Melita Aitken

A Canadian female artist of 18 century Melita Aitken. She was born on 31 March 1866 in Drumbo city of Canada.

Melita Aitken studied art at the Art Institute of Chicago with Mary Dignam in Toronto.

Melita married a soldier captain Robert James Aitken and he was killed in World War 1.

William Armstrong

William Armstrong was born on 28 July 1822 in Dublin city of Ireland.

In 1851 he immigrated to Canada and started working in the railway as a railway engineer in Toronto.

William Armstrong won many prizes for his watercolor artwork at provincial exhibitions.

He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts until 1887.

William taught drawing at Toronto Normal School and the University of Toronto.

After retirement, he started teaching art from his home until his death on 9 June 1914.

William Edwin Atkinson

W.E. Atkinson a famous Canadian landscape artist born in 1862 in England.

Later he moved to Oshawa, Ontario with his family because of his father open an English Drug Store.

Before the artist, he studied chemistry and worked as a pharmacist.

He trained at the Central Ontario school of art and Pennsylvania academy of fine.

William Edwin Atkinson made Royal Canadian Academy of Arts associate members and also in 1970.

Edwin Atkinson was invited to Toronto to be one of the founders of the Canadian Art Club

Frederic Marlette Bell-Smith

Marlette Bell-Smith was born on 26 September 1846, was a Canadian landscape painter who emigrated from England to Canada in the year 1866.

Frederic completed his art study in England then worked as a photographer and artist until 1871 in Montreal and later he moved to Toronto.

Bell-Smith was one of the famous Landscape Painters and known to his amazing work Selkirk Range, Rocky Mountains, and Lights of a city Street.

He also created many beautiful and stunning paintings of Edwardian and Victorian (British and Canada). Bell-Smith died at the age of 76 on June 23, 1923.

Louis Boekhout

Louis Boekhout a landscape artist born in the Netherlands on 1 March 1919 later migrated to Quebec Canada.

He started his training at the age of 19 at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and later he completed his training in France.

Louis enjoys painting outdoor which includes watercolor and oil paintings.

Louis never used photographs and illustrations to paint but his inspiration is his surroundings.

Not only painting but he is also known for his talent for finding water and healer.

His artwork can be found worldwide such as the Le portal art tour and even at the white house. Louis died on 09 January 2012 in Canada.

 William Brymner

William Brymner was born on 14 December 1855 in Greenock, Scotland. Later his family moved to Ottawa, Canada. He studied Architect in Paris at Academia Julian.

William worked as an associate and was later elected as vice president of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA). He died at the age of 69 on 18 June 1925 at Wallasey, England.

Alfred Joseph Casson

Joseph Casson was born on 17 May 1898 in Toronto, Ontario. He was a member of the Group of Seven as known as the Canadian Group of Artists.

Joseph is known for his excellent skills in landscapes from his first exposure to art at Hamilton Technical School.

In 1917 he exhibited his first landscape painting at the Canadian national Exhibition then I have hired by a commercial art company. He married Margaret Petry in 1924.

Alfred Joseph Casson also elected as a corresponding member of the National Academy of Design. He died at the age of 94 in 1992

Daniel Taylor

Daniel Taylor was born on February 12, 1955. He was the Canadian Hyperrealist painter, renowned for his high realism portraits and wildlife art.

A permanent exhibition of his art is on display at the John F Kennedy of Washington, DC Center for the Performing Arts.

George Theodore Berthon was born on 3 May 1806 at the Royal Palace of Vienna.

He is from France and completed his education in Paris and France.

Brereton’s father, René Theodore Brethren, was a court painter to Napoleon I and educated his son in art.

Furthermore, his knowledge of art in Paris must have been significant, it said that he paired with Jack Louis David.

George focused on defining the traits and characters of his subjects without idealization.
